About This Event

Imagine standing at the door, about to leave your children, knowing you won’t see them again until the Kingdom. What would you say? Which words would matter most? Jesus faced that very moment. As He prepared to return to heaven after His crucifixion, He gathered His disciples and poured out the deepest longings of His heart. In His final counsel and prayers in John 15–17, the same themes rise again and again: unity, love, and seeking the Father through prayer. He longed for His young church to stand together in purpose, in harmony, and in mission. Our world is anything but harmonious today. Polarisation is everywhere—nationally, globally, and at times even within the church. The call Jesus gave His disciples is the call we need now: to seek the Spirit, to pray earnestly, and to come together for mission. In our humanity, it feels beyond reach. That’s why we pray. True reconciliation is a miracle only God can work. On January 3, we’re inviting you to make space for that miracle. Pray privately. Pray with your family. Pray with your church. And join believers around the world for the Revival and Reformation Quarterly Day of Prayer and Fasting. You may choose a full fast, or you may fast from desserts, social media, or simply eat lightly and plant-based to keep your mind clear and your heart focused. Ellen White once wrote, “Now and onward till the close of time the people of God should be more earnest, more wide-awake, not trusting in their own wisdom, but in the wisdom of their Leader. They should set aside days for fasting and prayer” (Review and Herald, Feb. 11, 1904). As you lean into prayer, God will strengthen you. He will steady your heart for the days ahead, and He will draw us together in the unity Jesus prayed for. May this Day of Prayer and Fasting be a turning point for us all.
