Major Health Survey for Adventist Church
About 235 church members in South Australia will be invited to take part in a major new health survey during the month of March. The survey will involve 4,200 randomly selected church members in Australia and New Zealand, Adventist High Schools students and Avondale College Students. This will be the third such study of Adventist lifestyle conducted by the church during the last 20 years.
Pastor Kevin Price, Adventist Health Director, South Pacific, says that this new study will provide a snapshot of health behaviours and attitudes and track changes since the 1989 and 2001 surveys. The data will enable the development of meaningful health programs for families and young people and help local churches and conferences meet the health needs of church and community. Results of the survey will be presented later in 2012.
The randomly selected participants are asked to complete an anonymous questionnaire that includes questions on health and lifestyle matters. Participants will have the opportunity to complete a paper questionnaire or the same survey online.
Further details are available from Pastor Kevin Price at the South Pacific Division.
