Welcome to the South Australian Conference website.
We hope you find something of interest here.
Seventh-day Adventist are Christians who want to know God better and experience Him more in their lives each day. We are people with real experiences who can share hope in Jesus with you - a hope that gives life. meaning and direction. It is this hope that gives us reason to believe, motivation to teach and a desire to help others.
Here in South Australia we have an active church presence in cities and towns across much of the state. Please see the churches tab at the top for a list of churches and schools near you.
Our head office (Conference Office) is located at 31 Prospect Rd, Prospect. Come and see us some time.
Govt changes Science teaching policy
Church leadership in South Australia have been informed that a new pro-evolution policy has been withdrawn. The policy that was introduced by the Non-Government Schools Registration Board of South Australia in December 2009 removed the ability of independent schools in South Australia to teach creation or intelligent design as part of the science curriculum. In sharing on the decision South Australian Conference Education Director Mr Carel Neuhoff said, “The ability to teach and critique both evolution and intelligent design in science curriculum is an essential part of the special character of our schools”, he continued, “Having this policy in place would have greatly limited the freedom of classroom teachers to share an Adventist worldview.”
