Health Ministry Training

February 24-25, 2012

Para Vista SDA Church 134 Nelson Rd, Para Vista

Do you want to get involved in health ministry, but don’t know where to start?

Have you ever wondered how you could be a medical missionary without being a nurse, doctor or other health professional?

Would you like to see how health could be a powerful means by which to reach others for Christ?

Then the series conducted by Elder Jim Brackett is for you!

Learn from one of our foremost health education experts on how to utilize health ministry as a form of evangelism.

The programme starts Friday evening at 7.30pm with "Christ's example in medical missionary work". Then commencing at 10am, the presentations continue with "The daily preparation for the medical missionary worker" and "Methods and examples of medical missionary ministry". Following a potluck lunch (please bring a healthy dish to share), the meetings conclude with a programme entitled "Models of medical missionary programs".

Jim Brackett (BS, MPH, MA) and his wife Neva (RN) have authored three vegan cookbooks: “Something Better”,  “Best Gourmet Recipes from the Chefs of Five Loaves Deli and Bakery” and “The Seven Secrets Cookbook.” Over the past 35 years, they have conducted thousands of nutrition seminars and reversing diabetes programs across the USA and in dozens of venues overseas. For 18 years, Jim was a guest lecturer with physicians from Weimar Institute and their off-campus Reversing Diabetes program. He has worked as a high school teacher, minister, evangelist, health educator as well as an air transport pilot! He spent many years with Amazing Facts, and often features on 3ABN. Since retiring they have built a lifestyle centre on their 40 acre property north of Spokane, Washington state (USA). See www.seven-secrets.org for information and pictures of their centre.
